Asia01Welcome to the 5L Blog Page!

This term we are studying Asia! Getting to know our closest neighbours is important as it helps to understand a great deal about our trade, culture and geography. Check out our Asia page  for links and information and our Posts page for questions we would like you to answer as well as work that we have completed, and don’t forget to leave feedback!

All posts are monitored for appropriate content before being published.

Our Asian Travel Websites

The major project for this term is an Asian Travel Website that will provide information for tourists who wish to visit our chosen countries – each student chose a different one of the 47 possible countries in the continent of Asia and they are now Travel Agencies enticing tourists to their country.

Some of the things that our website will include are:

  • A fact file
  • Cultural and Festivals page
  • An interactive map of Tourist Attractions
  • Currency converters
  • Information on the Climate and What to pack

and much much more!

Our Sporting Super Stars!

We like to think that we are all sporting heroes in our class (even Miss Leah… sometimes) but we have two very special sports-persons that we would like to celebrate:

Alana competed in our District competition and came first in both the 100m sprint and discus for her age group, she then went on to compete and come first in both events at Zone. Today (14th October) she again represented the school at Regional level and came second in the 100m and third in discus – this is a tremendous achievement and she will now go onto participate in State competition later this year. Well done Alana!

Fergus competed in our District competition in both triple and long jump and came first. He then went on to win both events at Zone level and today he represented the school at Regional competition. We are very proud of his achievements and we know that he will flying even greater distances next year. Great job Fergus!

Italian Day

Do not forget that Monday the 26th of October is Italian Day at ACPS and that we can come dressed as anything ITALIAN! Some suggestions from 5L are:

  •  favourite Italian food – maybe pizza;
  • a famous Italian person – like the Pope;
  • perhaps a well known Sports star – a soccer player;
  • or a well known Italian ‘brand’ – like Ferrari?

Miss Leah is keen to be a big Baci chocolate… or perhaps she is keen to eat lots of Baci chocolates!
